About Abode Money
Abode Money is building the financial home for your home.
Our mission is simple: make homeownership more affordable for everyday homeowners. We’re using AI to automate the hard parts of saving on home costs, including property tax, insurance, utilities, and more.
We see a future where AI does the heavy lifting for homeowners, from analyzing data and fetching documents to filling forms, so homeowners can avoid headaches and live more affordably. No one is doing this today, and we see creating an ongoing relationship with homeowners as a massive gap in the market.
We have incredible backers, including Core VC, Drive Capital, Sequoia, and 81 Collection.
The Role
We’re looking for a highly autonomous recruiter to help us build a world-class team at Abode Money. This role will work closely with the CEO and COO and will own recruiting across functions, with an initial focus on operations, product, engineering, growth, and customer-facing roles.
This role is built for someone who is scrappy, deeply organized, excellent with people, and excited to build the recruiting engine from the ground up. You should be comfortable sourcing candidates, running processes end-to-end, improving hiring systems, and holding a high bar for talent.
You will not just “fill roles.” You will help shape the company.

You will not just “fill roles.” You will help shape the company.
What You’ll Do
- Own Recruiting End-to-End: Manage the full recruiting process from sourcing to offer, including role definition, pipeline management, candidate outreach, screens, interview coordination, feedback collection, references, and closing.
- Build High-Quality Candidate Pipelines: Source exceptional candidates across startup operators, engineers, product builders, growth talent, customer operations leaders, and other high-priority roles.
- Partner Closely with Leadership: Work directly with the CEO, COO, and hiring managers to define hiring needs, calibrate profiles, improve interview loops, and move quickly on top candidates.
- Create a Best-in-Class Candidate Experience: Ensure every candidate has a thoughtful, fast, and professional experience that reflects Abode’s culture and ambition.
- Develop Recruiting Systems: Build repeatable processes for sourcing, tracking, interviewing, follow-ups, referrals, and offer management. Help us scale recruiting without adding unnecessary complexity.
- Use Data to Improve Hiring: Track pipeline metrics, conversion rates, sourcing effectiveness, time-to-fill, candidate quality, and offer acceptance rates. Use insights to continuously improve the process.
- Strengthen Our Talent Brand: Help communicate why Abode Money is an exceptional place to build, including through job posts, candidate messaging, referral campaigns, and recruiting collateral.
- You are a natural owner who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- You are highly organized and can manage multiple searches, candidates, and stakeholders without dropping balls.
- You are excellent with people and know how to build trust quickly with candidates and hiring managers.
- You are persuasive but authentic. You can sell the vision without overselling the role.
- You have high judgment and a strong bar for talent.
- You are biased toward action and comfortable figuring things out without a playbook.
- You are low-ego, high-accountability, and willing to do whatever it takes to help the company hire exceptional people.
- You’re in Austin or willing to relocate. We’re in-person 4 days a week.
- You have 2+ years of experience in recruiting, talent, executive search, agency recruiting, startups, consulting, or another high-ownership talent-related role.
- You are comfortable using tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Ashby, Clay, ChatGPT, or similar systems.
- Experience building recruiting processes from scratch and exeperience recruiting for early-stage startups.
- Experience hiring operators, engineers, product managers, growth marketers, or customer operations roles.
- Strong personal network across startups, consulting, banking, tech, or high-performing operator communities.
- Take ownership. Single-threaded autonomy is the best way to build with accountability. Getting from 90% to 100% is an under-appreciated skill in a startup, but it’s what moves the needle.
- Move fast. Be decisive. Learn quickly. Iterate relentlessly. Speed is our advantage. Never let perfection slow progress. Build so no one can catch us.
- Be resourceful. We accomplish more with less. Constraint breeds resourcefulness and invention. No matter the challenge, you always find a way. No one says, “That’s not my job.”
- Challenge convention. Be creative. Question existing solutions to fix broken systems. And stand out. The world is full of noise, so think boldly and be different.
- Measure everything. Data is our truth. We quantify instincts, validate decisions, and track what matters. If we can measure it, we can improve it.
