The Opportunity:

As a member of ApplyBoard's executive leadership team, you will be responsible for the company's core marketing strategy and will share the responsibility to drive growth. In addition, you will lead a global team of marketing professionals, enabling marketing strategies and capabilities across all ApplyBoard business units and markets worldwide. You will be responsible for developing and driving ApplyBoard’s market strategy for innovative products, digital, data, and technology business solutions to product/market fit and scaling for significant revenue growth.

You will contribute to the vision, strategy, blueprint delivery and operations of ApplyBoard’s Marketing team. You also must have experience at high-growth B2B companies, able to own all areas of marketing including demand generation, marketing, branding, communications, and channel marketing. Having an understanding of the education and student industry is a strong asset for this role.

Location: This is a remote position, with some travel required to Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario at certain times of the year, with some international travel for specific events.

What you’ll be doing every day:

  • Define and own go-to-market strategy and roadmap to build and maintain a marketing plan ecosystem that offers a competitive advantage and mobilizes intuitive and personalized customer experience for all our critical audiences in service of driving ApplyBoard’s narrative and brand in the market.

  • Develop, refine, and evolve ApplyBoard's Value Proposition and supporting messaging for School institutions, Recruitment Partners and Students. Provide market-ready positioning aligned to ApplyBoard’s Value Prop and Mission

  • Understand industry and innovative technology trends to effectively prioritize and apply existing and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.

  • Lead and drive Brand Marketing, Demand Generation, PR Communications, Marketing Operations and Creative Services.

  • Lead and drive the implementation of the overall product marketing strategy

  • Effectively articulate vision, inspiring and influencing others through the Company's Core Values.

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships and investments with leading digital, data and social platforms to deliver significant value to the enterprise.

  • Develop marketing goals and objectives that align with the overall company strategy for both short-term and long-term optimization.

  • Hire, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team.

  • Serve as an evangelist for our products through thought leadership, social media, and speaking opportunities.

Ideally, you also have experience with:

  • Mentors, coaches, guides, and grows leaders of leaders, team members, and other colleagues, creating strong collaborative and engaging organizational culture.

  • Cultivates expertise and champions learning, adoptions, re-skill, and reuse across ApplyBoard.

  • Values diversity and ensures all appropriate team member views have been raised and incorporated into team decisions.

  • Driving customer growth and deepening engagement across products to drive loyalty.

  • Collaborate with our Product teams to understand release schedules, partnerships, and profitability to drive upsell/cross-sell against high-margin and high-opportunity products that meet our customers' growing needs.

  • Track record of influencing and leading successful cross-functional transformation efforts with colleagues at all levels of the organization, including senior and executive leadership.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent job experience.

  • 20+ plus years' marketing experience within high growth B2B organizations; (Education experience strongly preferred).

  • Experience as Vice President or a Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at $500mm+ revenue company

  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership capacity

  • 5+ years in Education, Software and or other technology industries preferred

  • Strong experience in business transformation and developing global growth strategies

  • Proven success as a data-centric, innovative, business-minded, highly strategic product (or line of business) marketing or marketing technology executive.

  • Strong data competency, with ability to synthesize data and insights into succinct strategies and action plans.

  • Expertise in bringing cross-functional team members together to advance retention and growth goals, and in helping other teams bring results through close collaboration.

  • Prior experience leading/owning product marketing, demand generation, or other GTM functions such as Sales or Customer Success.
