The Role:
We’re looking for a Director of Member Marketing Operations & Automation to lead our end-to-end B2C global member marketing operations strategy and execution — driving personalized member engagement, operational excellence, and measurable revenue growth.
With executive visibility and high cross-functional impact, you’ll own the systems, processes, and data infrastructure that power multi-channel and multi-language member marketing campaigns, while also auditing, optimizing, and implementing strategies to scale personalization, automation, and performance across the full member lifecycle.
This role will serve as a key strategic leader and hands-on builder and operator responsible for growing the B2C member marketing operations discipline at Carrot. This includes owning and enhancing our MarTech ecosystem, including marketing automation platforms like Marketo or Blueshift, with an eye toward integrating emerging AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes for Carrot members across the world.
The Team:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Growth & Engagement, this role will lead a B2C Member Marketing Operations team that currently consists of a Member Marketing Operations Manager and Email QA Specialists. It will partner closely with the other Growth and Engagement team members, serve as the connective tissue between Engineering, Data, and Business Systems teams to ensure seamless system integration across CRM, analytics, and data infrastructure, and collaborate as needed with the B2B Marketing Ops team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in marketing operations and automation, including 5+ years in a lead role building and scaling a marketing ops center of excellence — ideally in B2C health benefits, wellness, or regulated consumer tech
- Proven ability to inherit, optimize, and scale a B2C MarTech stack in a growth-stage or fast-paced environment that has led to increased engagement and measurable revenue growth
- Hands-on experience leading vendor evaluations and migrating to a new MarTech stack
- Deep experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems; strong command of UTM strategy and funnel KPIs
- Advanced technical skills, including proficiency with HTML and CSS for dynamic messages, and extensive experience in developing semantic, standards-compliant, and responsive user interfaces
- Experience mentoring and growing a high-performing B2C marketing operations team
- Known by peers for exceptional attention to detail, building airtight QA processes and data governance standards – resulting in cross-functional teams having utmost confidence and trust in marketing ops
- Deep experience in multi-language, multi-channel (email, SMS, push, in-app) campaign execution strategies, including A/B testing, advanced segmentation, tracking, and translations
- Strong grasp of HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and other data handling best practices in a consumer-facing health context
- Ability to own the work in a hands-on way and be in the details
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence decisions at all levels, among both technical and non-technical audiences
- Analytical thinker with a metrics-first mindset and experience in BI tools such as Tableau or Looker
- Self-directed and creative thinker; brings innovative ideas to the table, solves problems before they arise, and finds new ways to improve results
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating or leveraging AI/ML tools in lifecycle marketing or personalization workflows to drive smarter segmentation, predictive engagement, and operational efficiency
- Comfort working with SQL or collaborating with data teams on advanced queries and segmentation logic, a plus but not required
Compensation:
Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $170,000.00 - $185,000.00. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
