About Drive Capital

Drive Capital is a venture capital firm focused on building the next generation of great technology companies – outside of Silicon Valley. Founded in 2013 by two former Sequoia Capital investors, we’ve invested more than $1 billion in more than 60 startups across the US and Canada, including Duolingo, Olive, and Branch. The investment platform totals $2 billion.

Drive Capital is growing, and with it, our Finance team. We are scaling from human-powered outputs to a tech-enabled, automated function that can support the future growth of our investment platform. We value diversity, appetite for risk, and a habit of excellence.

You Will…

• Help position Drive to raise and invest its next $1 billion by planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial operations and reporting of the funds and firm
• Own portfolio performance analytics and craft meaningful visualizations to communicate insights to senior leadership
• Develop financial models, plans, and forecasts to drive business planning and the company’s strategic objectives
• Liaise with the Drive investment team and deal counsel to support investment deal flow
• Consult with our portfolio of over 60 startups (and growing) on designing best-in-class finance strategies
• Help establish and manage sound internal financial management control systems and develop procedures to continuously improve internal controls

About You:

• You’ve led finance at a small-medium size company or owned significant finance processes at a large company. You’re comfortable in Excel, and have also worked with GL or ERP software. Bonus points if you’ve helped level up a finance team by implementing new finance software.
• You’re excited about taking ownership of the finance function, applying a breadth of your previous experiences in financial analysis, portfolio management, accounting, and operations.
• You can manage many different stakeholders, and build conviction around a strategy based on accurate and timely analysis.
• You’re energized by learning as you go, finding creative ways to organize and solve ambiguous challenges.
• You have the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions autonomously.

Nice to Haves:

• CPA or CFA is a bonus, but not required
• Experience working in asset management or an entrepreneurial environment
• Have worked on or with a compliance or controls team
