We’re looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to join our Data Science and Analytics team and help transform data into actionable insights. You will be responsible for crafting and maintaining innovative business intelligence solutions to supercharge our data-led growth. You will partner with engineering teams, product managers, and other company leaders to deliver end-to-end data analysis and visualization solutions.

Responsibilities
- Build multi-source data pipelines and develop scalable reporting packages for reliable, timely business insights
- Design and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and ongoing statistical analyses to enable data-driven decisions
- Create visually engaging and insightful analysis using visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Plotly, Data Studio)
- Implement analytics solutions end-to-end, including project management, data gathering and manipulation, modeling, problem-solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists in developing their analytical skills and understanding of business intelligence tools
- Stay informed about the latest BI tools and technologies and recommend their adoption as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems)
- 5+ years of proven experience
- Experience in programming to extract, transform, and clean large data sets
- Proficiency in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Data Studio for full-stack data analysis, insight synthesis, and presentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners
- Able to relocate to or work in our New York or Pittsburgh offices

- Advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience at a high-growth company that has undertaken an IPO

We invest in and support our Duos! This role is eligible for a robust compensation package of base salary, equity, and Duolingo’s world-class benefits. The starting base salary range for this role is, $139,200 - $259,900. Actual salary may vary based on level, work experience, performance, and other factors evaluated during the hiring process.
