As the Sales Engineer, you’ll sit at the intersection of product, technology, and business to help our prospects understand exactly how Enlace creates financial and clinical value, and to turn that understanding into revenue. This is a high-visibility role working directly with executive buyers at leading health plans and provider organizations.
Success Measures:
- In 3 months:
- Demonstrate strong fluency in Enlace’s platform, value-based care use cases, and payer/provider workflows.
- Effectively partner with AEs on active opportunities, contributing to discovery, demos, and solution discussions.
- Deliver standard demos and support ROI modeling and RFIs/RFPs with guidance.
- Build strong working relationships with other internal teams, including Client Success, Product, and Technology.
In 6 months:
- Own the technical and solution strategy for multiple sales opportunities from discovery through close.
- Lead complex discovery and deliver tailored demos, solution architectures, and executive-level ROI narratives.
- Independently own technical RFI/RFP responses and coordinates cross-functional inputs.
- Support opportunities that progress to late-stage pipeline and closed-won deals.
In 12 months:Consistently influence the close of complex, enterprise payer and provider deals.
- Elevate sales effectiveness by creating reusable demo assets, solution templates, and ROI frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted subject-matter expert in executive buyer conversations on value-based care and Enlace’s differentiation.
- Shape product and go-to-market strategy through structured market and prospect feedback.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical and solutions expert in the sales process, collaborating with Account Executives to qualify, shape, and close new business opportunities.
- Lead discovery with payer and provider stakeholders (clinical, actuarial, IT, operations) to understand current-state workflows, data assets, and value-based care strategies, and translate them into clear solution designs.
- Develop and deliver compelling demos, presentations, and ROI narratives tailored to health plan and provider executives, including CFO, CMO, CIO, SVP & VP-level audiences.
- Design end-to-end solution architectures (data flows, integrations, configuration, and workflows) that show how Enlace’s platform fits within a prospect’s ecosystem (claims platforms, data warehouses, care management tools, etc.)
- Build quantitative business cases and value models (savings, revenue, and operational impact) that support executive decision-making and align with client financial goals.
- Own and respond to RFIs/RFPs from a technical and solution perspective, partnering closely with Product, Implementation, and Compliance.
- Capture prospect requirements and market feedback and feed them into Product and Engineering roadmaps in a structured way.
- Support smooth handoff to implementation by documenting solution assumptions, scope, and design decisions made during the sales cycle.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on value-based care constructs (episodes, bundles, capitation, shared savings, risk adjustment) and how Enlace operationalizes them.
- Comfort interacting with varying audiences, from C-suite executives to medical professionals.
Position Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a client-facing technical, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or similar role.
- Direct experience in healthcare, ideally with payers, value-based care, payment integrity, population health, or healthcare analytics.
- Deep familiarity with specialty care episodes and value-based care constructs such as episodes of care, DRGs, risk adjustment, quality measures, and provider incentive programs.
- Strong understanding of health plan operations and data, including: medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility, provider data; common payer systems (core claims platforms, care management, data warehouses); and basics of value-based payment models (e.g., shared savings, bundles, episodes, capitation).
- Proven track record supporting complex B2B sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and long deal timelines.
- Excellent communication skills—able to take complex technical concepts and make them simple, visual, and compelling for non-technical executives.
- Hands-on comfort with data and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL basics, BI tools, or analytics platforms) to support sizing, ROI modeling, and proof-of-concept work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in parallel.
- Experience selling or implementing healthcare SaaS platforms for payers or large provider groups.
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams in a high-growth company.
- Background in consulting, health IT, or actuarial/analytics a plus
