Role at a Glance

The Operations and Logistics role is responsible for comprehensively ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of Gecko’s Houston shop, which serves as a key hub supporting our Field Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of both physical and electronic inventory and will interface with key stakeholders across Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering. You will support equipment logistics and repairs, including RMAs, to ensure that equipment, spare parts, and auxiliary equipment are kept in good working order and arrive when and where required. You will also execute additional functions, including Fleet Vehicle management, shipping/handling, and supporting the Facilities team as required.

What you will do

  • Oversee day-to-day shop operations, keeping a safe, clean, and organized workspace

  • Conduct inventory control, both physically and within Enterprise software solutions, as well as stage equipment for upcoming field inspections and perform inspections and maintenance on equipment returning from the field

  • Manage and arrange secure shipment of specialized equipment using commercial cargo services and express couriers, ensuring compliance with packaging and transportation requirements

  • Execute procurement of new parts and equipment and manage repair RMAs with equipment vendors as required

  • Manage Fleet Vehicles, including tracking, regular inspection, and coordinating necessary maintenance

Required Skills:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in an industrial / technical shop operations role, with responsibilities including:

    • Equipment tracking and management

    • Parts and inventory management

    • Shipping and logistics, both domestic and international

  • Experience working with Enterprise software solutions, including ERP systems

  • Experience with professional productivity tools such as Microsoft Office or Google apps

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, including supporting certification audits (e.g., ISO 9001)

  • Experience or familiarity with Salesforce and NetSuite software

  • Experience or familiarity with electro-mechanical systems

  • Experience or familiarity with Quality and Operations frameworks (e.g., LEAN, Six Sigma, etc)
