Our openings span more than one career level. The provided salary depends on many factors, such as work experience and transferable skills, business needs and impact, and market demands.

About Us:

Collaborative autonomy is how self-tasking teams of machines will solve hard human problems, and HavocAI is an unquestioned leader in collaborative autonomy. We set the standard for autonomous surface vessels for a wide range of defense and commercial maritime missions. Success requires us to grow quickly, and we’re looking for teammates who are passionate about solving hard problems, about pushing the envelope, and about preventing conflict and saving lives. Ambition is welcome to apply within.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Electrical Technician (Prototyping) to help bring next-generation autonomous systems to life. This role sits at the core of our prototyping efforts, where you will build, integrate, and refine the electrical systems that power our platforms.

You will work at the earliest stages of development, transforming engineering designs into functional hardware—from embedded boards to full system wiring. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where the systems you build today are often tested tomorrow.

We are looking for builders—people who genuinely enjoy working with electronics and take pride in high-quality craftsmanship.

What You Will Do

  • Assemble and integrate electrical systems for prototype autonomous platforms

  • Build and route complex wire harnesses with a focus on reliability, durability, and clean design

  • Perform high-precision soldering, crimping, and connectorization for critical systems

  • Support integration of embedded electronics, sensors, and onboard compute systems

  • Work directly with engineers to troubleshoot, modify, and iterate on electrical designs

  • Contribute to rapid prototyping cycles to validate and improve system performance

Who You Are

The Builder

You take pride in your work—clean wiring, strong solder joints, and robust systems matter to you. You enjoy the craft of building electronics that perform reliably in demanding environments.

The Generalist

While your strength is electrical systems, you are comfortable working across disciplines and figuring things out as you go.

The Operator

You thrive in fast-moving environments where you can build, test, and iterate quickly. You prefer hands-on execution over long development cycles.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or electronics prototyping

  • Strong soldering and crimping skills

  • Experience building or routing wire harnesses

  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, or engineering drawings

  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems or hardware integration

  • Strong attention to detail and build quality

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with high-power electrical systems or battery integration

  • Background in aerospace, robotics, automotive, or similar hardware environments

  • Experience supporting prototype builds or experimental systems

  • Familiarity with designing for reliability and manufacturability

Location Note

This role is based in San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Long Beach, CA to support prototyping, integration, and testing efforts as needed.

Benefits:

  • 100% Employer paid Health, Dental and Vision Insurance for you and your families

  • Life Insurance (Employer Paid)

  • Ability to participate in the companies 401k program (Matching)

  • Unlimited PTO policy with an enforced 2 week minimum

  • Equity Package

  • Work / Home Office Stipend

  • Global Entry

  • 16 Week Paid Parental Leave

  • Monthly Health and Wellness Stipend
