About the Role
As a Junior Localization Specialist, you will be ensuring that our product experience is seamless for our French-speaking users. You will be partnering with different teams at KOHO to produce error-free content that adheres to the company’s style guidelines. Please note: This is a remote position based in Canada that is available to those who are legally entitled to work in Canada.

What You'll Do

  • You will translate a variety of written communications from English to French, frequently under tight deadlines, while maintaining the content, context, and style of the original material.
  • You will proofread and conduct quality control of translated copy for localization and side-by-side comparisons of source and target content to ensure language accuracy.
  • You will accurately relay style and tone so that the meaning of the original/source text is maintained in the translation.
  • Create and maintain a company translation memory/glossary to be used by all company departments as a source of truth.
  • You will use translation tools appropriately to ensure the consistency of translated documents and increase efficiency.
  • You will be working cross-functionally with our Tech, User Success, Product, Marketing, and Legal departments.

Who You Are

  • You are a native speaker of Canadian French (Québécois) with a good command of English (written and spoken).
  • You have a University Degree in Translation Studies or a College Diploma in Modern Languages (DEC Arts et lettres - Langues modernes) and 1-2 years translation experience.
  • You have a positive attitude (take those lemons, make that lemonade!)
  • You are hard-working, detail-oriented, and efficient in analyzing the work requested.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
