About the Role

KOHO is looking for a Financial Analytics Engineer to work on our data team. This role is for you if you are passionate about analyzing financial insights, modelling data, and building data products that empower end-users to answer their own questions.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of 3 analytics engineers and will report to the Analytics Engineering Team Lead. They will act as the direct intermediate between the data and finance teams to collect requirements, prioritize requests, build data products, and communicate insights.

They will also contribute to the mission of KOHO’s analytics engineering team: to define, implement and maintain best practices for analytics warehouse management, leading to high-integrity data standards and a reduction in overhead maintenance.

Please Note: This is a remote position and is available to those who are legally entitled to work in Canada.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will meet with stakeholders (the finance team), build strong relationships, scope and prioritize their analytics requests
  • You will use dbt to transform, test, deploy, and document financial data leveraging dbt while applying software engineering best practices across the analytics code base
  • You will build dashboards and reports in Sisense
  • You will help define processes, build tools, and offer training to empower all (20+) data and business analysts in the organization.
  • You will understand business needs and translate requirements to meet those needs
  • You will troubleshoot variances in reports, and strive to eliminate them at the source
  • You will document data models and provide training as needed

Who You Are

  • You have 3+ years of experience handling, manipulating, and documenting data
  • You have experience with dbt
  • You have a strong advantage if you have a finance or accounting background
  • You have strong expertise in SQL, data warehouse design, and dashboard creation
  • You are an excellent problem solver with strong communication skills
  • You are passionate about automating processes

Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.

Target Base Salary Range
$105,000$150,000 CAD
