About Normal Computing | Incredible Opportunities

The Normal Team builds foundational software and hardware that help move technology forward, supporting the semiconductor industry, critical AI infrastructure, and the broader systems that power our world. We work as one team across New York, San Francisco, Copenhagen, and London.

Your Role in Our Mission

Normal has paying customers, a product in market, and a growing presence at the conferences and forums where semiconductor and AI infrastructure engineers gather. What we don't yet have is the community infrastructure to turn that presence into a scaled, engaged network. That's this role.

You will drive the strategy and execution for building Normal's technical community: the engineers, researchers, and technical leaders working in design verification, AI-assisted EDA, and adjacent disciplines. That means growing the audience across social, content, and event channels; launching and running a real-time community platform; representing Normal in the field with technical credibility; and converting attention into lasting relationships that feed Sales, Talent, and Partnerships. You will carry the company's story into the field and bring back signal that makes the rest of the organization sharper — competitive intelligence, product feedback, hiring leads, and an honest read on how we're landing.

This role sits within Communications and partners closely with the Head of Communications on strategy, narrative direction, and reporting infrastructure. You will also work regularly with Product, Engineering, Sales, Recruiting, and Partnerships. At Normal, we fight against silos. This role touches nearly every function.

Responsibilities

Community Growth and Audience Development

  • Build and manage community infrastructure: onboarding flows, engagement sequences, lead scoring, and a real-time community platform (Slack, Discord, or equivalent)

  • Design and run multi-channel growth campaigns across paid social, organic content, co-hosted customer engagements, and event-based programming

  • Launch and run a podcast that brings technical audiences into Normal's orbit and deepens relationships with the engineering community

  • Grow Normal's social media presence with specific growth and engagement targets, managing both organic cadence and paid campaigns

  • Coordinate internal SME participation across community channels, events, and content, and equip team members to amplify through their personal networks

Conference and Field Program

  • Represent Normal at conferences, technical events, and in the field, building relationships, qualifying interest, and providing context-rich handoffs to Sales, Recruiting, and Partnerships

  • Run the end-to-end conference operating loop: advance research, bilat scheduling, onsite execution, lead scoring, debrief, and pipeline entry

  • Build a conference speaking pipeline: CFP submissions, SME coordination, and growing Normal's presence in conference programs beyond sponsored slots

  • Design conference-adjacent events (dinners, workshops, invite-only sessions) that extend each conference's impact

  • Conceive and execute Normal-hosted developer events where engineers get hands-on with Normal EDA and demo what they build, starting with a hackathon format and scaling over time

  • Evaluate and recommend sponsorships and partnerships that deepen engagement with priority technical communities

Measurement and Operations

  • Partner with the Head of Communications to define attribution methodology, lead quality scoring, and reporting frameworks; Comms leadership builds and maintains the underlying infrastructure

  • Run post-event operations with consistent rigor: scoring, debriefs, and community pipeline entry on a defined cadence

  • Synthesize field signal from conferences, community channels, and field conversations into a monthly intelligence report for Product and GTM leadership

  • Deliver monthly reporting on community growth, social media performance, campaign efficiency, and conversion

  • Run experiments across channels and formats, report results honestly, and iterate based on what's working

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years in community building, developer relations, or technical evangelism, with demonstrated experience growing a technical community from early stages

  • Experience in or around deep tech, semiconductor, hardware, or infrastructure industries strongly preferred

  • Track record building community programs and growth campaigns with clear ownership of budget and performance targets

  • Experience running an online community platform and producing owned events from concept through execution

  • Credible in technical settings: can hold a conversation with a verification engineer and earn their attention

  • An eye for what good technical content looks like and how to deploy it, even if you're not the one writing every piece

  • Comfortable with data: CRM systems, campaign analytics, community metrics, and reporting dashboards

  • Execution-oriented with strong follow-through: can run a conference booth on Tuesday, write the debrief on Wednesday, and launch a campaign on Thursday

  • Comfortable building structure where none exists and iterating when reality disagrees with the plan

  • Intellectually honest: willing to challenge how the team thinks about problems, not just executing the plan but asking whether the plan is right

  • Low ego, high ownership: willing to fill gaps across teams and put the outcome ahead of the org chart

  • Willingness to travel for conferences, community events, and field engagement (estimated 30-40%)
