We're on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Computer Vision/Machine Learning Engineer with a penchant for pioneering advancements in manufacturing through the application of machine learning and computer vision. As an integral part of our team, you'll spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge motion planning, localization, and control algorithms tailored for industrial robotic manipulators. Your primary focus will revolve around architecting and fortifying a robust, adaptable software framework to facilitate various robotics endeavors.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead R&D initiatives aimed at addressing challenges related to image segmentation, object detection and pose estimation and its application in manufacturing, leveraging neural networks and Python for advanced solutions.
  • Build foundational computer vision and machine learning models that can transform the manufacturing industry
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate the efficacy of machine learning systems, encompassing processes, parameters, algorithms, and equipment, with a focus on deep neural network models.
  • Contribute to the design and construction of a versatile, high-performance software platform conducive to diverse robotics tasks.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere, working closely with cross-functional teams to propel the advancement of top-tier robotic solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to delineate the trajectory for robotics projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and market dynamics.
  • Identify avenues for optimizing the efficacy of robotic systems, encompassing speed, precision, and efficiency, through algorithmic enhancements and hardware augmentations.
  • Continuously refine development processes, tools, and methodologies within the robotics engineering domain to elevate productivity and deliverable quality.
  • Stay at the forefront of machine learning research, tools, and techniques, including the application of neural networks in welding science, contributing to advancing Path's mission.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, with a focus on Computer Vision and Machine Learning, or relevant practical experience.
  • 5 years of research experience dedicated to pioneering novel machine learning algorithms, including more than 3 years of industry exposure to designing, developing, and deploying real-world deep neural network models using Python
  • Bring over 5 years of hands-on experience in crafting distributed systems utilizing C++ or Python
  • Strong empirical and working knowledge with transformers and implementation details such as positional encoding and cross attention. As well as experience with popular LLMs such as BERT, GPT, T5.
  • Experience with multi-modal models [text, image, actions, force] such as CLIP, Flamingo, BLIP, Gato, etc.
  • Enthusiastic about autonomous robotics systems and committed to delivering top-notch code.
