About the Role:
As a Software Engineer at Sparx, you will be instrumental in automating complex data science and actuarial methodologies, helping our customers navigate risk in Value-Based Care. You will work with healthcare claims data and clinical data feeds to create backend solutions and intuitive front-end dashboards to enable seamless user experiences for our customers. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data, healthcare, and financial technology, driving value and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Automate Analytical Workflows: Design and implement automated pipelines for data science and actuarial models, enhancing the precision and efficiency of risk assessments and forecasting.
Data Architecture: Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to efficiently ingest, process, and utilize healthcare claims and clinical data for predictive modeling and underwriting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with actuaries and data scientists to translate complex models—including MCPs and large language models—into scalable, production-ready software solutions.
Performance Optimization: Write and refine backend code to improve speed, scalability, and reliability across our platform.
CI/CD and Automation: Design and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines with a focus on automation, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
Develop User-Centric Platforms: Build intuitive, responsive front-end applications using modern frameworks to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.
What We're Looking For:
4+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in data-intensive environments.
Proficiency in Python and JavaScript (React, Node.js); experience with additional backend languages such as Go or Java is preferred.
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure acceptable).
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage CI/CD pipelines, with attention to privacy and security best practices.
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and XGBoost. Experience modeling MCPs and working with LLMs is a strong plus.
Proficient in SQL, R, and Databricks, with a strong understanding of data manipulation techniques for high-performance analytics.
Experience handling healthcare data and working within privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA).
Strong problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset with a passion for innovation in healthcare technology.
