The Role:
- Collaboration with the HW Engineering team to define, develop document and maintain new test procedures that align with product specifications and design requirements
- Collaboration with Manufacturing partners to provide ongoing support to ensure high product quality and achieve product yield targets
- Development, integration and deployment of manufacturing test code and processes for server, networking and storage components
- Provide technical support and failure analysis for failed production components and assemblies
- Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action and Failure Modes Effects Analysis on defects and escalations, working with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Work with existing legacy test infrastructure and maintain and improve upon it
- Train operators on test processes and support recurring certification programs
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel is important
- Domestic and international travel may be required to transfer products and provide on-site training
- Willingness to remotely work across time zones to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams in EMEA and Asia
Responsibilities:
- Support Manufacturing Test Development for new and existing hardware designs.
- Develop automated test scripts for Functional and System tests using Python and open source utilities.
- Support the development, integration and deployment of test platforms for Vast's global manufacturing partners.
- Provide technical support and failure analysis for discrepant production components and assemblies.
- Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action and Failure Modes Effects Analysis on defects and escalations.
- Train operators on test processes and support recurring certification programs
- Continuously focused on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods.
- Review new software releases and develop solid and robust test process scripts.
- Manage the transfer and set up of new products or new software to a manufacturing site.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing tests, hardware development, or software development and validation.
- Linux-based product OS testing and control
- Scripting language experience to support existing scripts and for developing new production programming and test scripts. Demonstrated ability in python and sh/bash.
- Familiarity with manufacturing process and PLM systems
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to define requirements and capability to deliver test solutions
Desired Qualifications
- Good understanding and experience of server systems including test methodology for CPU, memory and motherboards
- Experience with IPMI and testing BMC functionality
- Familiarity with networking and testing networking infrastructure
- Experience with storage architecture, including testing SSDs
- Experience with PCIe debugging and testing
- Bench-top electrical debug tool experience as well as electrical design of test circuitry
- Knowledge of programming devices such as CPLDs
