As a Technical Marketing Engineer at VAST Data, you will be an integral member of the Product Management team, spearheading the technical comprehension and promotion of the VAST Data Platform. Your role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between technical intricacies and market requirements, driving the adoption and success of VAST Data's innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop compelling technical content, empower sales and marketing efforts, and ensure alignment between product capabilities and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on the VAST Data Platform, possessing a deep understanding of its architecture, features, and capabilities. Continuously stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to inform product positioning and differentiation.
  2. Content Development: Create high-quality technical content including whitepapers, datasheets, presentations, demos, and case studies that effectively communicate the value proposition of the VAST Data Platform to diverse audiences such as customers, partners, analysts, and internal stakeholders.
  3. Sales Enablement: Empower the sales team with the necessary technical knowledge and tools to effectively articulate the benefits of the VAST Data Platform to prospects and customers. Develop sales collateral, training materials, and competitive analyses to support the sales cycle and drive revenue growth.
  4. Marketing Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop impactful marketing campaigns, messaging, and go-to-market strategies that resonate with target audiences and drive demand generation. Contribute to the creation of thought leadership content, webinars, and product launches.
  5. Customer Engagement: Engage directly with customers to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and use cases. Gather feedback and insights to inform product roadmap prioritization, feature enhancements, and product messaging.
  6. Industry Evangelism: Represent VAST Data at industry events, conferences, and trade shows as a technical spokesperson. Deliver engaging presentations, participate in panel discussions, and engage with industry influencers to raise awareness and credibility for the VAST Data Platform.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, solution architects, and other internal teams to ensure alignment between product strategy, development priorities, and customer requirements. Provide valuable input into product roadmap planning and feature prioritization.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and impact of technical marketing initiatives through feedback analysis, performance metrics tracking, and process optimization. Stay agile and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment, embracing change and innovation.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical marketing, product management, or technical sales engineering within the enterprise software, storage, or data management industry.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies, distributed systems, cloud computing, and data center architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling technical content and sales enablement materials.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for driving business results.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
