Job Summary:

The International Operations Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the Forward Logistics flow of goods and materials from the point of origin to the point of consumption. This includes overseeing transportation, warehousing, inventory management, as well as managing the associated Partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers. In addition, the International Operations Manager will assist in the Service Logistics operations. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation Management:
  • Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods from suppliers to distribution centres and from distribution centres to end customers.
  • Select and negotiate with carriers to optimize cost, delivery times, and reliability.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that arise during transit.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels at distribution centres to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Work with procurement teams to forecast demand and plan inventory replenishment.
  • Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery schedules, order status, and any logistics-related inquiries.
  • Resolve any delivery or service issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • This role will be responsible for both forward and reverse logistics
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyse logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, transportation costs, and inventory accuracy.
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including transportation safety, environmental standards, and import/export laws.
  • Identify potential risks in the logistics process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities for auditing and reporting purposes.
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align logistics activities with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to keep them informed of logistics plans and any changes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field, with a focus on forward logistics.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.
