Position Overview:
The Strategic Sales Director at VAST Data will drive high-impact growth through executive-level partnerships with the company’s most critical accounts. This role is key to VAST’s positioning as a leader in enterprise storage and data infrastructure, managing complex, large-scale sales cycles, and securing long-term, high-value agreements. Focusing on a select portfolio of high-profile clients, the director will develop and execute tailored strategies that meet sophisticated customer needs while aligning VAST’s solutions with their business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Strategy: Design and implement growth plans for assigned accounts, nurturing relationships at executive levels and aligning VAST’s solutions with customer objectives.
- Sales Execution: Drive end-to-end sales cycles, securing strategic, multi-million-dollar agreements and achieving ambitious growth targets.
- Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends and competitive insights to position VAST Data as a trusted advisor.
- Solution Design: Partner with internal teams to create customized solutions that address customers' data management challenges.
- Thought Leadership: Represent VAST Data in industry forums, fostering executive engagement and promoting best practices in strategic account management.
Requirements
- Experience: 12+ years of sales experience with a focus on enterprise software, data infrastructure, storage solutions, or cloud technology, preferably with a blend of startup and established tech environments.
- Track Record: Proven history of exceeding sales targets with high-profile accounts, managing complex deal structures, and securing high-value, multi-year contracts.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills with a strong capability to develop trust-based relationships at the executive level across global organizations.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data infrastructure solutions, cloud storage, high-performance computing, AI/ML data management, and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
